This painting is dedicated to my mother, Mary Lee Ogle. As I created this painting, 
my thoughts were of my early childhood days.
I remember walking with Mother along the country road on Gnatty Branch, in the shadows of the Great Smoky Mountains. The dogwoods in the early spring were breathtaking, especially in the morning. I remember Mother telling me the Legend of the Dogwood and the symbolism of the rust color markings in the beautiful blossoms. The years have swiftly gone by and the precious memories of Mother are deeply etched in my mind.
